Our Story
It all started in 1982 on a goat farm in the highlands of Virginia...

Kate's Vision
Inspired by her love of goats and goat milk, Kate Crosby began hand making goat milk bar soap. She shared her soaps with family and friends and they raved about her formula and how good it was for their skin. Since she had more goat milk than she knew what to do with, Kate had the idea to start making her soaps for her local community and to give her growing business a name. She called it Dionis Goat’s Milk Soap™, after Dionis Beach in Nantucket, a place where she had fond memories while growing up.

Big Ambitions. Big Success.
After sales were on the rise locally, Kate realized she had created something special that many others would benefit from. Her big break came when she boldly walked into a Cracker Barrel™, goat in hand, to pitch her products. It was a success and a move that would eventually lead to her products being sold in all Cracker Barrel stores nationwide.
Dionis continued to grow into more than just bar soaps, offering goat milk hand creams, lotions, and more. And with this expansion, she sought the help of the Ott family, based in Warrington, Pennsylvania, to produce her products. The Otts fell in love with Kate and Dionis, and after her retirement, they promised to continue her legacy.

Karen's Promise
Karen Minsky, who runs Dionis today, proudly continues Kate’s vision, with strong, female-run leadership, strict quality guidelines, and of course, goat milk in every product.
